Ongoing Transformation: Reflections Ahead of My Solo Show

After making the tough decision to close my encaustic studio last year, I’ll admit I wasn’t sure what was next. At first, the change felt a bit daunting, but over the past few months, with my daily art project to guide me, I’ve kept my promise to myself to experiment, practice, and explore new processes every single day. It’s been an incredible experience.

For years, encaustic was at the heart of my work, and I wasn’t sure how my art would evolve without it. Now, I feel excited by the possibilities. I’m enjoying new techniques, playing with different materials, and rediscovering what I love about making art.

This transition is the start of a new chapter, one that is unfolding in real-time and will come to life in my upcoming solo exhibition next month at Cerulean Arts Gallery. My show will be a reflection of my growth as an artist, featuring pieces that use new techniques, materials, and inspiration from my recent trip to Argentina. The pieces may seem different from one another, but that variety is part of the journey, showing my love for experimenting and the excitement of this creative shift.

I can’t wait to share this exhibition with you!
